Happy Ka Hae Hawaiʻi Day (Hawaiian Flag Day)! Since 1990, the state of Hawai’i has celebrated their historic flag on July 31. Eight horizontal stripes on the flag represent the main islands of Hawai`i; the Union Jack reflects British influence in the late 1700s and early 1800s.
This stamp was issued in 2008 as part of the Flags of Our Nation series.
